Introduction
Jointly Provided Switched Access Services occurs when an interexchange carrier (IXC) receives feature group access service that is co-provided by more than one local exchange carrier (LEC). Arrangements must be in place between the LECs for the ordering, rating, and billing of these access services. This co-provided service is referred to as Jointly Provided Switched Access Services. Switched access traffic is the primary application for Jointly Provided Access Services.
The industry- and regulatory-approved method of billing the IXC for this Jointly Provided Access is referred to as Meet Point Billing.
