Qwest has instituted an additional set of edits for orders submitted via EDI. If a value is submitted to Qwest that is not in the Qwest service specific EDI Map, the Co-Provider is sent a NEGATIVE 997. These edits are not reflected in the IMA Developer Worksheets. An example of this is found in the IMA 8.0 Developer Worksheets, LSR field numbers 97 and 99. The matrix shows these as “N” (Not Required) for product # 5, but if data is sent in these fields on the NP order, the Co-Provider receives a NEGATIVE 997.
This is an unsatisfactory condition and we request that either the maps be modified to ignore (rather than reject) fields that are noted as “Not Required” in the Developer Worksheets OR the Developer Worksheets be modified to indicate “Prohibited” (P) for the fields/products that are being edited by the EDI map.

| Chapter 02 in 8.0 disclosure, EDI Introduction currently states: N - Not Required – This field is not required for this activity, for this product. If the indicator is (N) for all activities, Qwest does not map the field and will return a –997 if populated. P - Prohibited – Currently not used by Qwest. Beth King is going to update 9.0 to reflect this in addendum #1 on 3/11/02.

| Qwest will Update the IMA 9.0 Disclosure Documentation Addendum 1 to indicate that the field is a P (Prohibited). Any data placed in the field will return a -997. Elain Sinclare (Karen Henry's group) is the POC on this issue.
