Archived System CR SCR062702-11IG Detail

Telcordia Industry releases (BOS versions) are required to be implemented by the provider companies within a specific timeframe (September 1 - November 30, 2002). Qwest believes it is the customers' expectation that Qwest stay current with the BOS versions, and that they be implemented within the prescribed window.

In addition to the CABS/BOS update to version 38, this CR also includes changes in CARS record layout changed as a result of OBF issue 2214.

July 18, 2002 CMP Meeting Discussion: Jeff Thompson/Qwest stated that this change request is an industry release that is implemented twice a year. Liz Balvin/WorldCom asked if this change request had anything to do with the CABS/BOS updated that was implemented on July 1. Jeff Thompson/Qwest said that also had to do with BOS and that Version 38 would be implemented in November. Michael Buck/Qwest asked if anyone objected to this being an industry guideline change. Liz Balvin/WorldCom because this is billing, it does not require prioritization. Jeff Thompson/Qwest asked if everyone remembered discussing Industry Guideline CRs in redesign. This is a mandated change. Michael Buck/Qwest reviewed how the language covered in redesign was written for prioritized systems. However, Qwest is complying with the document, which does no clearly distinguish between prioritized and non-prioritized systems. So although, this is not a prioritized system, Qwest is still seeking concurrence on consideration of this CR as an Industry Guideline CR. There was no objection in the room or on the bridge to classifying this CR as an Industry Guideline CR. Carla Pardee/AT&T asked how this change would affect them if they did not convert at the same time. Jeff Thompson/Qwest noted that it will not affect how AT&T does business with Qwest. Michael Buck/Qwest said that the status would be changed to development.

RE: SCR062702-11IG (CABS/BOS Version 38)

This Qwest submitted Change Request indicates that updates to CABS/BOS version 38 are scheduled to take place between September 1 and November 30, 2002. Qwest will implement these changes during that timeframe. These updates are part of Telecordia updates and result from OBF issues (including OBF issue 2214, changes to the CARS record layout).

The Change Management Notification, CMPR.07.01.02.F.01290.CABSBOSVersion38, was distributed on July 2, 2002 informing of this Industry Guideline Change Request. There were no objections received by Qwest; therefore, this Change Request, SCR062702-11IG, will be classified as an Industry Guideline CMP CR. This Change Request will be at the next Monthly Systems CMP Meeting.

The Level of Effort (LOE) for this Change Request is 800 to 1000 hours.
