Project Meetings |
August 22, 2002 Systems CMP Meeting Discussion: Michael Buck/Qwest - this CR deployed on August 5th and we have heard of no issues with the deployment, are we ok to close? There was no dissent to the completions of this CR. May 16, 2002 Systems CMP Meeting Discussion: Michael Buck/Qwest explained for those on the telephone how to access this walk-on CR. He apologized for the fact that this is a walk-on, it truly should not be. If we need to address this as an exception we can talk thru that. There was no comment Judy Schultz/Qwest said that it recently came to our attention that this ASOG change is CLEC impacting. We agreed in re-design that Industry Guidelines are not to be walk on items. If we are not in agreement that this can be a walk on, then Qwest needs to ask for an exception. Qwest feels that we could not wait for the next CMP meeting because of the nature of the notifications required for this change that are due to begin next Wednesday. Michael Buck/Qwest asked if there were any other questions and there were none. Gary Veik/Qwest presented this CR and stated that on Saturday, August 3, 2002, all companies will convert to ASOG 25. Qwest is not deviating from the industry guidelines at all. Gary Veik/Qwest stated that a few items might impact the CLECs. Details of this release can be found at: http://www.atis.org/atis/clc/obf/obfhom.htm Gary Veik/Qwest reviewed the following changes: Translation Questionnaire - Expand the NPA/NXX codes from 30 to 90 iterations - Expand the NPA/NXX field from 6 bytes to accommodate number pooling arrangements - Add LRN (Location Routing Number) to help identify a switch that has ported number and is used to route a call to a switch - Add LRN G (Location Routing Number - Global) which identifies a single number to uniquely identify a switch that has ported numbers. Other Changes are minor in nature: - Change "Cage" to "Arrangement" on co-location field descriptions - Clean-up to have like field state the same information such as all be A/N - Add capability on Frame Relay services to indicated priority - Have Link Services valid for different services - Update field on Trunk Services to be valid for CCS/SS7 Links Gary Veik/Qwest stated that Qwest is following the National Standards set by OBF. Byron Dowding/Alltel asked if this impacts BDS TELIS? Gary Veik/Qwest said yes. Michael Buck/Qwest stated that this CR is specific to EXACT. There will be a CR for TELIS next month. Gary Veik/Qwest referred all to the URL for detailed information. Stated that Qwest cannot provide the document. Sharon Van Meter/AT&T asked if this should be brought up at Re-Design? Judy Schultz/Qwest stated that all of the extra steps we take around industry standards/regulatory changes are defined in the arena of prioritized systems. This does not fall into that area. We thought we would still follow the 73-day notification. Terri Wicks/Allegiance stated that he thought we should use this as an example in re-design to help craft the language for how to handle regulatory & industry standards for non-prioritized systems. Bob Carias/NightFire stated that in November 2002, there is an FCC Mandate in regard to wireless. ILECs are making enhancements to support wireless to wireline number portability that will impact the CLECs. Connie Winston/Qwest stated that Qwest is aware of the change. It was defined and made clear after the voting for 11.0. We are trying to adhere very closely and we could possibly slot if for 12.0. We currently have it scoped as an enhancement. We may open a mandate CR and handle it that way. Michael Buck/Qwest asked if there were any other questions or concerns for Gary Veik? There were none raised. Michael Buck/Qwest stated that the 73-day Notice would go out next Wednesday.
